Wedding Calc is a free set of tools that helps couples planning a wedding and guests attending one handle common calculations quickly and easily. From complex wedding budget categories and the right gift money to the D-day countdown and home funds, everything is presented with the formula so anyone can follow it.
Operating principles (E-E-A-T)
- Experience — We mirror the real wedding budget categories used in actual planning (venue, photography & attire, jewelry, home, etc.) and break results down by category.
- Expertise — We use clear calculation logic — category totals, share computation, meal-cost-based gift money guidance — and show the assumptions alongside.
- Authoritativeness — For figures that need to be exact, such as loan limits, we direct you to confirm with banks and official housing institutions.
- Trustworthiness — For items with no fixed rule, like gift money and wedding costs, we clearly state they are "reference estimates." Your inputs are never collected or stored.
Data and assumptions
Wedding Calc's amount baselines are estimates referencing social custom and typical cost levels. Gift money baselines, meal-cost assumptions, and average wedding budget shares may change as norms shift, and we update them to the latest values when they do.
- Gift money: a recommended range reflecting relationship, attendance and per-person meal cost (for reference).
- Wedding budget: a simple sum of the category amounts you enter, plus each category's share.
- Wedding D-day: the date difference between today and your wedding date (time of day ignored).
- Newlywed funds: the shortfall after subtracting savings and gift money from the sum of home and wedding costs.
A note on accuracy
All Wedding Calc results are reference estimates based on your inputs and our published assumptions. In particular, gift money has no fixed rule and varies with your budget and closeness to the couple. Home loan limits and rates, and real wedding quotes, vary by financial institution and vendor, so confirm final decisions with an official institution or professional.
